My Favorite Online Education Resources

This is an evolving list of resources from applications to list serves that I have found online to use when teaching online classes or taking online classes. This is the list of resources that I’ve also recommended to colleagues.

I’ll work on highlighting different resources over time in the edublog posts.

Online Journals

These are the Online Journals that I read and watch.

• Journal of Educators Online - http://www.thejeo.com - is an online, double-blind reviewed journal for instructors, administrators, policy-makers, staff, students, and those interested in the development, delivery, and management of online courses in the Arts, Business, Education, Engineering, Medicine and Sciences.
• JMIR - http://www.jmir.org - the leading OPEN ACCESS* peer-reviewed transdisciplinary journal on health and health care in the Internet age.
• Innovate - http://www.innovateonline.info - a peer-reviewed, bimonthly e-journal published as a public service by the Fischler School of Education and Human Services at Nova Southeastern University. It features creative practices and cutting-edge research on the use of information technology to enhance education.
• Chronicle of Higher Education - http://chronicle.com - the No. 1 source of news, information, and jobs for college and university faculty members and administrators.

Online Listserves:

I have pretty diverse areas of interest and specialty, so consequently, I subscribe to a variety of different email listserves to keep up to date.

Nutrition

• Nutritional genomics, or nutrigenomics - http://nutrigenomics.ucdavis.edu the study of how foods affect our genes and how individual genetic differences can affect the way we respond to nutrients (and other naturally occurring compounds) in the foods we eat. Look for information on how to subscribe to the Nutrigenomics listserve under their Information page.
